Creative and descriptive writing task

14 Sep

CURLY PENCIL

This mini assessment task encourages students to write creatively and descriptively through visualisation – based on their own memories.

Students can really get their teeth into this task if the teacher leads the task step by step, giving examples along the way of their own memory on the board. As you go along the students’ interest is gained by the words you are writing on the board as you won’t have told the students what the memory is.

Students then realise after the task completion that it is not as difficult as they thought to write using these prompts for future assessments plus they enjoy reading their stories to each other about their memory.
